
Richard Garrod’s career commenced with HM Revenue and Customs in 1986, leaving in 1989 to enter private practice. In 2003, he joined Mazars LLP as partner, heading up the tax practice across the North of England.
During his time with Mazars, Richard established and headed up the Tax Investigation practice, which gave him valuable insight into HMRC strategy and practice. He also headed up the practice nationally in the Property and Construction sector, (presenting on many facets of planning ranging from onshore and offshore tax efficient structures to capital allowance planning), and the Film and Media sector, (where he has a wealth of experience in the issues and opportunities involving the film industry in particular).
Richard specialises in providing proactive and innovative tax planning and structural advice to private clients, entrepreneurs and their businesses. He is well connected with many blue chip legal practices, private banks, corporate financiers and venture capitalists throughout the UK.
